David is recommended as a Leading Individual in the current edition of the Legal 500 directory. David is also the only ranked lawyer (Planning) in Essex in the current edition of the Chambers & Partners UK. He was described by one interviewee as "an encyclopaedia of planning law."
David has been practising Planning Law for more than 30 years, he is widely regarded as an articulate and enthusiastic planning advocate who provides strategic and practical advice. In particular he is a proficient, experienced advocate at planning appeals and hearings in the Magistrates, Crown and County Courts. This makes instructing David a cost-effective alternative to instructing Counsel. David is also experienced in representing clients at complex Planning Inquiries; providing expert and practical legal advice and representation on a wide range of planning issues.

David’s work highlights include advising on the extension to planning permission granted in relation to a significant integrated waste management facility, and representing a commercial entity in respect of a proposed development of 165 houses on a site adjacent to their commercial premises which, if approved would cause the business to suffer serious commercial consequences.
