Career

Daan works as a partner in the Liability and Insurance department at Dirkzwager. He is seen as an expert in (re)insurance issues in the field of D&O and professional liability and coverage disputes, with a further focus on corporate liability insurance (AVB) and product liability. Daan frequently provides advice and litigates before the civil court and in arbitration proceedings. He is regularly involved in major and complex cross-border and international disputes.. The client base consists of national and international insurers and reinsurers, directors and officers, law firms, etc.

Daan has been an attorney since 2006. He worked for a major tier 1 law firm in Amsterdam until 2012, and then embarked on a journey by land from the Netherlands to South Africa (and back). He has worked as an attorney with Dirkzwager since 2013. He frequently publishes and teaches within his field of expertise.
