Carl Westmoreland focuses his practice on zoning and land use issues with an emphasis on local government work, primarily representing real estate developers. Carl has been instrumental in the development of several notable Atlanta, Georgia projects, including Ravinia, Concourse, Northpark Town Center and The Mall of Georgia. Land use cases in the City of Atlanta have included the Atlantic Steel site redevelopment, additions to the Turner Broadcasting Complex, the Terminus development for Cousins Properties, redevelopment of the Buckhead Village area, and numerous multifamily developments. Mr. Westmoreland is actively involved in local politics and civic organizations. He served on a committee created by the Urban Land Institute to address affordable housing issues and on the Peachtree Corridor Task Force to propose redevelopment and transit options for Peachtree Street in Atlanta. In addition, he has been a guest lecturer on land use matters at Emory University and Georgia State Law Schools, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
