Practice Areas

Ashley's practice focuses on energy and commercial transactions, as well as project development and infrastructure. She regularly provides legal guidance to clients on an array of corporate matters including acquisitions, mergers and divestitures in the energy sector, providing advice on joint venture arrangements and other business structures, as well as negotiating commercial agreements for upstream and midstream oil and gas matters.

Career

Outside of the office, Ashley is currently the Vice President of the Canadian Energy Law Foundation (CELF) and was the Director at Large, Legal, for the Petroleum Joint Venture Association (PJVA) from 2013 to 2019. She is a regular course and seminar instructor for numerous industry associations, including the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen (CAPL), Petroleum Accountants Society of Canada (PASC) and the Canadian Bar Association – Natural Resources Section.

Publications

Ashley has co-authored multiple publications on the topic of oil and gas royalties and vesting off interests in land, which have been published in the Alberta Law Review and Annual Review of Insolvency Law.
