Alex Schmitt has been a member of various committees of experts of the Luxembourg Financial Sector Supervisory Commission (CSSF). He is also on the panel of conciliators and arbitrators of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). He is a lecturer at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and teaches at the University of Luxembourg.

Author of numerous legal contributions in banking and finance law.
