Advised the Egyptian Ministry of Finance on the admission of Egyptian treasury bills and treasury bonds (the “Securities”) to the Euroclear system. Our work included advising on several extensive questionnaires in relation to the eligibility of the Securities to be traded through the Euroclear system while being deposited within the Egyptian system, as well as the protection of the Securities holders’ rights at all times.
Advised Deutsche Bank as the lead arranger on the USD 1.2 billion financing to Abraaj Capital for the acquisition of Egyptian Fertilizers Company and advising on the USD 400 million sharia’a compliant partial refinance of this deal using novel and complex finance structures.
Advised IFC on the subscription in the capital of an Egyptian telecom company. In addition to concluding a limited due diligence on the company before the subscription of the IFC. IFC had subscribed in the capital of an Egyptian telecom company named "Fawry for Payment Technology" with a cash amount equivalent to USD 6 million.
