Founded in 1964, the firm began its activities focused on corporate and commercial matters and with a strong focus on international clients. Over the years and in order to meet the demands of its clients, the firm has expanded its areas of practice so that today it can be classified as a full-service firm. Through a wide and qualified network, the firm is also able to advise clients interested in making investments outside Brazil. Despite having a diverse range of clients, the firm is recognized for its ability to provide differentiated and individualized service to each of them, as well as proposing sound, creative, and value-added solutions.

Main Areas of Practice:
The firm has advised national and foreign clients on issues related to the following areas of practice:

The firm assists its clients on drafting and negotiating both national and international contracts.

The firm advises its clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital investments, due diligences, takeovers and all corporate acts such as shareholder meetings and agreements. Moreover, the firm provides assistance to companies wishing to set up branches, subsidiaries or offices abroad.


The litigation department deals with a wide range of judicial and arbitration claims, including intellectual property, tax, bankruptcies or compositions with creditors, torts and corporate disputes. In those cases, where the clients need a representative in foreign courts the firm works together with qualified local firms in foreign countries.

The firm has two tax departments: litigation and consulting. The services comprehend federal, state and city/county taxes applicable to individuals and corporations. Furthermore, the office provides services in international taxation planning through agreements to avoid multiple taxation, eligibility to tax relief/tax breaks. International and transnational issues are dealt with in cooperation with foreign law firms.

The firm provides services in both consulting and litigation, as well as negotiations with labor unions, Federal Public Labor Attorney’s Office, Regional Labor Office, Class Associations and Collective bargaining agreement and due diligences.

Real Estate:
The real estate department advises clients on registration processes, real estate investment trusts, securitization of real estate receivables and due diligences.

International Work:

Lippert Advogados supports both Brazilian clients who wish to expand their business to other countries as well as foreign clients of different nationalities such as Argentina, Chile, China, Italy, France, Germany, United States and Uruguay who plan to invest in the Brazilian market. In some cases, the firm works together with local partners to ensure complete, specialized and highquality legal assistance. In this sense, the firm is a founding partner of ALAE — Aliança de Advocacia Empresarial, an organization of which the law firms of Brazil and Latin America are part and which allows us to provide a service taking into account the specificities of each country and region.
