With the head of the department a former member of the Law Society’s Housing Committee, four lawyers named as “Leader in their Field” by Chambers and Partners, two partners with experience on Housing Association boards and a partner who is a founding member of the Social Housing Lawyers Association, the department boasts an enviable proactive involvement in the sector. The team comprises of eight lawyers and prides itself on the quality of the service provided to clients via qualified staff.
The development team has continued to see a steady flow of instructions over the past year, especially from its registered provider clients. Commercial property continues to receive high levels of instructions, a substantial amount from long established clientele who appreciate fixed or capped fee’ in this area. The team also provides services for developers on plot sales, housing associations, private clients, and particular chains of estate agents, delivering essential support and particular expertise in shared ownerships. The department boasts an ever-growing team of lawyers, including a partner named as a “Leader in their Field” by Chambers and Partners.
Areas covered include regulatory advice, business acquisitions and sales of companies. Clients are varied from social landlords to partnerships, companies and LLPs. The firms’ fixed-fee debt recovery package is proving popular as a cost effective way to strengthen cash flow. The litigation team service companies, private clients and social landlords across the UK. Included within the team is a qualified mediator. The department has a growing international and domestic practice, built on cost effective and practical solutions that include the use of alternative dispute resolution.
