Chambers research FAQS - COVID-19

At Chambers and Partners we are continuing to work as a community to address the impact of COVID-19. We would like to offer our support with the Chambers’ research process during this time and have outlined how we are approaching this in the FAQs below.

Are we able to delay our submissions, if so until when? 


We are sensitive to the issues our law firms contributors may face and will be flexible with our submission deadlines wherever possible bearing in mind these difficult and unprecedented circumstances.


Are there any specific submission deadlines extensions?

Yes, we will delay the start of research for Chambers USA 2021 edition. Submissions which are usually due in early June will now be due on 23rd July. The submissions deadline for Chambers Europe on 13th May will now be extended to 17th June. However, as European research is underway and we have good engagement from our research contacts, please can you continue to plan to provide the relevant referee spreadsheets by 13th May to support these submissions where possible.

We have also provided a two week extension to some of the submission deadlines for Australia and New Zealand. These changes have been updated on the research schedule.


How do you propose to contact our referees effectively at the moment?

We understand that it is a difficult time for everyone at the moment. As a result, we will be as flexible as possible and respect the wishes of any firm that does not want us to contact their referees.


Will the research process continue as planned?  
                                             
At this current time,  we are proceeding with research as planned wherever possible. Where interviews are not possible, we are supplementing our research with questionnaires. We will continue to monitor the progress across all our teams


Are you going to delay the launch of any of the guides? 

Our  imminent guide launches are based on research that has had full engagement for many months now.  We will continue to review our publications schedules in light of the global crisis.


Which guides are to be released next? 

The next guides to be released are as follows: Chambers USA, 23rd April; ALSP, 30th April; Litigation Support, 21st May; Chambers Associate 5th June; High Net Worth, 9th July. The full schedule can be found at www.chambers.com/research/launch-dates.


If you can't speak on the phone, will you provide another way for referees to respond? 

As part of the research process, we try to speak to as many third party experts as we can; however, if under the current circumstances these contacts cannot speak to us over the phone, we will contact them via email and offer questionnaires to gather written feedback. In light of the current circumstances, we will provide all of our interviewees with flexibility on the timings for their written responses.


Are you still managing to conduct interviews with law firms, lawyers and referees? 

We are fortunate enough to be contacting leading professionals from across the world. While our engagement levels do vary from country to country, there remains a strong appetite to participate in the research process. We will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with our law firm contributors.


If there are changes to the schedules or launch dates, how will you notify us?

If there are any changes we will update you via email as well as notification on our website chambers.com.
