State of the market

This session will give the attendees the opportunity to discuss topics relevant to Italy and surrounding legal market and beyond.

It will take a closer look at the economic drivers affecting investment into the region. It will identify 'hot' sectors and industries, including any barriers to foreign investment and how the market views outbound transactions.

This session will be held in Italian.

Francesco Gianni is head of the Corporate/M&A department and one of the founding partners of Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners. He is considered one of the top experts in M&A in Italy, as well as in the rest of Europe. His focus is on corporate finance transactions and, in particular, general public M&A and public to private M&A. He also has extensive experience in the arbitration field. Due to his position at the pinnacle of the M&A field, he is frequently asked to represent some of the largest companies and investment banks in Europe. He was involved in almost all of the major privatization processes of Italian state-owned companies. He delivers lectures at conferences all over the world and has been a contributor to many of the most prominent legal publications.

Gianluca Ghersini specialises in M&A, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions, with a particular focus and expertise in private equity. He is also highly experienced in Joint Ventures and international contracts.

In recent years Gianluca has been involved in several exciting and ground breaking cases/transactions. He is a member of the Italian Bar, IBA , British-Italian Law Association and Anglo-Italian Business Association.

Daniele Guarnieri is the General Counsel for Nestlé Group in Italy and is also responsible for the legal affairs of the confectionery division for EMENA region. Prior to Nestlé, Daniele spent 9 years as Head of Legal at Ferrero S.p.A.

Federico Imbert joined Credit Suisse in March 2010 from JP Morgan Chase and Co. During his thirty-six year tenure with JP Morgan, he held a variety of senior roles, including serving as Chairman and Senior Country Officer for Italy and CEO for Private Banking in JPM EMEA. Federico has been involved in approximately 500 deals in Italy and abroad; amongst others, the Telecom Italia tender Offer, the Mediaset placement, the Telecinco IPO and, more recently, the UBI capital increase and the Atlantia Abertis transaction. The privatizations of ENAV, Poste, Raiway, Fincantieri and the acquisition of RCS Libri by Mondadori are also on the list.

Marco Reggiani
General Counsel
Snam

Marco Reggiani has been General Counsel of Snam Group since 2010. The position currently held includes the functions of chief legal officer, governance officer, compliance officer and risk officer.
Marco is also a member of the Snam’s leadership team (senior management committee) and a Board member of Italian and Foreign companies. He also acted as Chairman of Italgas, leading company in the Italian gas distribution sector, from 2012 to 2016.

Before joining Snam, Marco has covered leading roles in legal departments (including inter alia ethic and compliance) in the oil and gas industry. He is qualified with the Milan Bar, and studied in Parma and Trento. Marco is currently the AISCA’s president, Italian Association of the Secretaries of the Board of Directors.
