António is one of the founding partners of the firm’s Lisbon office, which was opened in 2002, and is currently the national managing partner of the firm’s Portugal operations. António is also head of the firm’s Capital Markets group in the Lisbon office Finance department, integrates the Financial Regulation Group in Lisbon, and is member of the firm’s European Banking Union Group ("EBUG"). He is widely acknowledged as one of Portugal’s leading specialist in securities law, regulatory, banking law and corporate commercial law. He advises corporations, including listed companies, financial institutions, including investment banks, private equity houses and national and foreign investors on some of the markets most complex and high-profile transactions, both national and cross-border. António has prowess in private and public mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, privatisations, equity and debt securities capital markets transactions, financial regulatory matters and company restructuring. António Soares is graduated in Law at the Faculty of Law of the Lisbon University (ULisboa), starting his professional career as an Assistant Professor at the same faculty. In 1989, António served as a consultant to the Lisbon Stock Exchange and was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) for four years. In 1995, António joined Morais Leitão, J Galvão Teles & Associados (now Morais Leitão) as an associate lawyer, being promoted to partner in 1997.

Maria Castelos is a Partner in the M&A, Private Equity and Banking & Finance Departments of CS Associados, co-heading those practices of the firm. With more than two decades of experience, she is a transactional lawyer who provides local and cross-border legal advice to private equity houses, infrastructure funds, credit and financial institutions and corporations in a range of corporate finance, M&A, projects, capital markets and banking and finance transactions. Maria has a wide experience in negotiating and closing M&A and private equity transactions, privatisations, takeover offers, infrastructure projects and joint-ventures. Since her early days she has been involved in several of the most innovative transactions completed in Portugal in those areas, assuming a leading role in the advice provided to several high profile Clients. Maria graduated in Law at Lisbon Law School of Catholic University and holds an LL.M. by the University College London, University of London, in Banking and Finance. In 2009, after eighteen years as a practitioner, Maria founded CS Associados together with five other partners.

At Sérvulo since 2008, Paulo Câmara is currently the firm’s Managing Partner and partner of the Finance and Governance department. He is a guest professor on the LLM – Master of Laws, on the Master’s Course in Law and Management, and on the Corporate Master’s Course, of the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal, and on the MLM-Master of Law and Management of the Nova University of Lisbon (Novaforum). He is coordinator of Governance Lab, an independent research group dedicated to corporate governance. He is also the Chairman of the General Meeting of the Portuguese Association of Banks (since 2016), Chairman of the Portuguese Compliance and Regulatory Observatory (since 2017), and Chairman of Banco de Investimento Global. Member of Drafting Committee of the Financial Law and Capital Markets Magazine, member of the Scientific Commission of the Competition & Regulation Magazine, and member of the Monitoring Committee of the IPCG Corporate Governance Code. He was Vice-President of the Public Company Practice and Regulation Subcommittee of the IBA - International Bar Association, from 2010 to 2012. He was a member of the Coordinating Committee of the National Council of Financial Supervisors and of the European Securities Committee, from 2006 to 2008. He was Director of the Regulatory Policy and International Department and of the Issuers Department of the Securities Market Commission (CMVM - Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários), from 1998 to 2008. He was a member of the Euro Committee, from 1996 to 1998, and of the Working Group responsible for preparing the Securities Code, from 1997 to 1999. He has written over 60 published books and articles on financing law, corporate governance, capital markets and banking law. He joined the Bar Association in 1991.

Founding Partner of RFF Law Firm and Tax Law Specialist under the Portuguese Bar Association, Rogério Fernandes Ferreira was Former Secretary of State for Tax Affairs, has a Masters in Tax Law and Post-graduate in European Studies, is a Tax law professor in Master and Post-Graduate degrees, President of the Portuguese International Fiscal Association (IFA) and of Instituto Latinoamericano de Derecho Tributario (ILADT) Branches, as well as a Tax Arbitrator in the Portuguese Tax Arbitration Center (CAAD). He is also registered in the Brazilian Bar Association since 2005, is a Board Member of the Portugal-US Chamber Of Commerce in New York since 2016, and a “Tax correspondent” of the International Bureau Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) since 2015. He is a Law graduate by the Human Sciences Faculty of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa of Lisbon (1987), has a Master degree in Tax Law from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa de Lisboa (1991), is University lecturer Tax Law (Tax litigation and Arbitration) Post-Graduate Program in the Law Faculty of the Lisbon University (Clàssica) since 1997, Professor and guest lecturer for Tax Law Post-Graduate Progams in Tax Law and in Taxation within the Instituto Superior de Economia et Gestão since 2000, Professor and guest lecturer for Tax Law Post-Graduate Progams in Tax Law and in Taxation within the Law Faculty of the Universidade de Lisboa and within the Business and Economic Faculty of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Invited Professor (and founder) in the International Tax Course of the Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics since 2014, and has a Harvard Law School (Executive Education) Diploma in Leadership in Law Firms (RFF) obtained in 2019.
