Chambers Seminar: Energy

The Economic Case for Transitioning towards Renewable Energy

We are delighted to announce the Chambers Forum Seminar on Energy Law will be in association with Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados.

Keeping the rise in global temperatures below 2 degrees Celsius this century (that is to say, back to pre-industrial levels) requires commitments from the international community as a whole. Considering the role energy production and global greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions play in this phenomenon, how can the different energy stakeholders engage in the commitment to placate it? What role will the energy system and different energy technologies play in the transition toward renewable energy? Are current regulations up to the challenge? How to address the challenges of bankability, especially in a subsidy-free world? Will energy storage meet the expectations? What challenges will the prosumer bring to the financing of energy networks? These and other questions will be addressed in this seminar.
