Corporate/M&A Department

Overview

The department is best known for its work with complex transactions both in the domestic and international markets. As a mid-sized firm with presence in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, we are not, and do not aim to be, the largest law firm measured by number of lawyers. Our commitment is to help our clients with their most challenging matters and offer original and groundbreaking solutions.

One key characteristic that makes the department unique is our capability to deeply understand both the corporate and the tax aspects of a transaction, which we trace back to our firm’s DNA: our founding partners personally contributed to the creation of the Brazilian taxation system and have instilled in all lawyers the notion that advising efficiently on a M&A transaction requires a comprehensive and combined knowledge of corporate and tax laws.

In addition to our continuous M&A and corporate work with some of the most relevant publicly-held companies in the country (among others, Aliansce, BRF, CSN, Gerdau and Tupy), areas of growth include energy and tech/VC M&A.
