The Shearman & Sterling has a vibrant M&A Italian domestic and international practice. The Italian team is also known for its truly international nature. All of its members are Italian as well as New York qualified and have spent a meaningful amount of time in non-Italian offices of the Firm, primarily New York.  This, combined with the high degree of integration of the practice with that of the world-wide offices of the Firm, allows our team to proficiently cover both the Italian and international sides of deals.  These characteristics reflect heavily on the nature of the transactions we handle, which, while still governed by Italian law or involving significant Italian law advice, in most cases comprise a substantial cross-border element.  The team however performs well and has handled a high number of purely domestic Italian deals.
