Overview

This unique department specialises in only the most serious cases of catastrophic injury. We are renowned for our expertise in complex brain and spinal injury cases, as well as amputation injuries, serious orthopaedic and criminal injuries. 

Between August 2019 and 2020, our Personal Injury department alone secured damages for 49 cases totalling over £85 million; an average settlement of around £1.74 million.​

Hugh Potter obtained over £30 million for a young man who suffered a catastrophic brain injury following a road traffic accident which included periodic payments of £325,000 per year for the remainder of the client’s life.

Gary Herbert secured £13.2 million in 2019 for a teenage girl who suffered a head injury after she was a passenger in her boyfriend’s vehicle when he lost control hitting parked cars and a stone wall.

In 2020, Helen Shaw acted for a young man who suffered catastrophic injuries at work whilst operating a cherry picker which settled for over £9 million.

James Gratton joined the firm in August 2020 and specialises in catastrophic injury claims, including brain injury and amputation claims. He acted for the first UK claimant to have a simultaneous elective lower limb amputation and osseointegration.
