Overview

Miller & Chevalier has a long history of assisting clients in their toughest challenges throughout Latin America. Our highly skilled practitioners include more than 20 attorneys with deep experience in the region, many of whom have lived in the region for extended periods of time. We have significant experience handling matters for Latin America-based companies and multinationals operating in the region, with particular emphasis on the complex oil and gas industry, mining, and medical devices. Our clients benefit from our lawyers' fluency in Spanish and Portuguese, on-the-ground expertise, and relationships with local practitioners. Our nine fluent Spanish-speaking attorneys and three fluent Portuguese-speaking attorneys are subject matter specialists, not attorneys specializing in other disciplines who happen to be fluent in a particular language. Our language capabilities allow us to navigate the difficult local issues that can arise when lawyers are overseas investigating matters with potential enforcement risk. Our cultural fluency can be instrumental in positioning us to work successfully with lawyers, employees, business leaders, and enforcement agencies in the region.
