Dentons global energy team has 1,000+ lawyers working on domestic and international energy transactions.

Based across Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow , the Scottish team advises on onshore and offshore wind (including transmission), solar, hydro, wave and tidal, energy from waste, gas peaking/CHP, energy storage and demand response projects, as well as energy efficiency initiatives such as district heating, SMART cities and smart metering programmes. In addition to our project advisory expertise our Scottish-based regulatory lawyers are key members of our market-leading UK energy regulatory team advising - and, in many cases, drafting relevant legislation for - a range of UK governmental/public sector entities, as well as exporting that expertise to other jurisdictions.

In the oil and gas industry we have extensive experience in upstream, mid and downstream M&A and joint ventures, exploration and production, storage, transportation, and supply and sale contracts. We have particular expertise in decommissioning projects and have played a key role in the development of the LOGIC standard form decommissioning agreement.

Our Scottish team consists of energy lawyers with expertise in banking and finance, corporate, construction, property, planning and environmental, project development and tax. We advise funders and developers in both the primary and secondary markets and understand the challenges our clients face, helping them to achieve successful outcomes.
