Overview

The Environment team at Cleaver Fulton Rankin is headed by Chairman and Director, Karen Blair. The Environment team offer a unique set of skills, with a wealth and depth of experience in the three inter linked disciplines of environmental law, planning law and public law, with a particular emphasis on judicial review. These complimentary specialisms allow the team to provide comprehensive proactive advice to their clients.

The team works on projects at the consenting stage, including advice on all planning, environmental and regulatory consents and also provides advice on on-going operational issues, both in respect of regulatory liaison with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency and also advice on necessary variations to consents and requirements for planning permission as operations expand.

Environmental matters the team has worked on with clients include significant infrastructure developments across Northern Ireland. The team also has a particular strength in the agri-food sector acting for a number of significant food producers advising on regulatory issues.

Whilst the team predominantly works for promoters of schemes and specific industry groupings, the team also has experience in acting for objectors, whether it is commercial operators or residents.
