What the team is known for

It remains in the prevailing economic climate that the trend is of increased claims against professionals. As in previous years we have sought, whether acting on behalf of claimant or insured professional, to achieve an economic resolution in what are becoming increasingly complex areas of law. We continue to see our role as facilitating such resolution, whether by negotiation, mediation or litigation.
We have seen an increase in claims for claimant clients arising out of alleged negligence settlement of litigations against both counsel and the client's former solicitors.
Our broad practice gives our clients access to a wide range of expertise in other areas, including insolvency, so that we are well placed to offer practical and innovative assistance in the present adverse conditions for professional firms.
We continue to deal with claims arising out of the administration of trusts, executries and contentious disputes arising out of litigations. There remain a significant level of claims arising out property related matters.
We continue to invest in the expansion of our civil litigation department with the recruitment last year of Iain Nicol who is highly experienced in civil litigation. Iain holds specialist accreditations in Professional Negligence law and Personal Injury Law.
