About

Provided by Anthony Collins Solicitors LLP

Our COP team delivers tailored deputy services and relationships based on circumstances. Whether acting for someone lacking capacity, high-value catastrophic injury settlements or maximisation of state benefits, we understand a “one-size-fits-all” solution is inappropriate. We manage over £40m of assets and if circumstances have led to court proceedings, we ensure individuals are respected. Collaborative working with all professionals is encouraged.

Many cases involve health and welfare decisions and other considerations, particularly property and finances. We advise on property and affairs deputyships, Trusts, wills and estate planning within our department. We are appointed as interim panel deputy as part of ongoing proceedings and advise on marriage breakdowns. Our childcare expertise ensures smooth client care when matters move from family jurisdiction to the COP or inherent jurisdiction. We advise on complex community care law and human rights claims that arise from the MCA. We offer services in mental health and community care law.

Our lawyers are involved in projects with the Law Society, STEP, SFE, COPPA and the Court of Protection Users Groups.
